This policy explains which cookies and browser storage finoptiq.com uses, what each one is for, and how you can control them. It is read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1.What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — such as browser storage, local storage and session storage — do a similar job: they let a site remember something between visits or between pages.
Cookies may be set by us (first party) or by a third party whose service is embedded in the page (third party).
2.How we use them
We use cookies and browser storage to keep the website working, to remember simple preferences, and to understand which pages and content are useful so we can improve them. We do not use them to track you across unrelated websites for advertising.
3.Cookie categories
Cookies are usually grouped into the categories below. Not every category applies to this website today — the table further down shows what we actually use.
- Strictly necessary: needed for the site to function, for example keeping you signed in to a dashboard or protecting forms from abuse. These cannot be switched off in our settings.
- Preferences: remember choices you have already made, such as a display preference, so you do not have to set them again.
- Performance and analytics: tell us which pages are visited and where visitors run into problems, in aggregated form, so we can fix and improve the site.
- Marketing: used to measure campaigns and show relevant ads. We do not set these on our website today, and if we ever do we will ask for your consent first.
4.What is used on finoptiq.com
The table below lists what we currently place or read on this website.
| Name / technology | What it does | How long it lasts | Who sets it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name / technologyBrowser storage (preferences) | What it doesRemembers simple choices you have made, such as a display preference, so the site does not ask you again. | How long it lastsUntil you clear your browser storage | Who sets itFinoptiq (first party) |
| Name / technologyGoogle Fonts | What it doesDelivers the web fonts used to display this page. Google sees the page address and your IP address when it serves them. | How long it lastsAs described in Google's privacy policy | Who sets itGoogle (third party) |
We do not set advertising, marketing or cross-site tracking cookies on this website, and we do not sell the information it collects. If we add analytics or campaign tools later, this table will be updated and, where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent before switching them on.
5.Third-party services on the page
Our pages load web fonts from Google Fonts. That request goes to a Google server, which can see the page address and your IP address as part of delivering the font. Third-party players or maps we might add in future could set their own cookies; that is outside our control, and we list them here when we add them.
6.Controlling cookies
You can accept or refuse cookies through your browser settings, and most browsers let you block or delete them. You will normally find these options under Settings or Preferences, then Privacy or Site settings.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies can stop parts of the site working — for example signing in to a merchant dashboard. Blocking analytics simply means we cannot see how that page performed.
7.Browser and platform opt-outs
You can also manage advertising and analytics tracking through your device's advertising settings, and through the privacy controls offered by the analytics and advertising platforms we use. If we enable such tools, this policy will link to their opt-out pages.
8.Do Not Track
Some browsers send a 'Do Not Track' signal. There is no common standard for what websites should do with it, so we do not respond to that signal today; the browser controls described above are what actually take effect.
9.Changes to this policy
If we add, remove or change a cookie, we update this page and its 'last updated' date. Where the law requires consent for a technology we start using, we will ask for it before switching it on.
10.Contact
Questions about cookies or how we use them can be sent to privacy@finoptiq.com, or through the contact details on our website.
